2009 U.S.S. George H. W. Bush Commissioning

This gallery depicts the commissioning ceremony of the U.S.S. George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier. On Friday night (Jan 9) there was a lavish gala featuring an army of wait staff presenting all manner of culinary delights, an ice sculpture of the ship, and even a projected image of the ship in light on a wall of curtains! Participants included President George H. W. Bush, Barbara Bush, Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, and Dan Quayle. The commissioning ceremony was held on Saturday afternoon (Jan 10) and featured speeches by Presidents George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush followed by the firing of cannons and an aircraft formation flyover. The ceremony inspired considerable patriotism and pride in America! It was an honor and a thrill to be invited by friend and Ragtimist Bob Milne and President George H. W. Bush!Thank you Bob and thank you President Bush!
